The man cave is the sanctuary of the home.  It’s a man’s favorite place to get away, unwind and have fun. If you or a loved one is lucky enough to have one, try adding a touch of style with motorized window treatments.

Which kind is best?

Just like a school teacher, everyone has their favorites. My clients and partners often ask me which motorized window treatment is best. I love working with products from Lutron and this article is going to explain why.

The following story best captures why I always recommend Lutron: over-the-top, impeccable, unbelievable motorized window treatment customer service.

A few years ago, Lutron became aware of a problem with their drives/motors.  There was a batch of sporadically defective drives, some of which I had installed for an extremely wealthy client. 63 to be exact! She began to have problems with them. After replacing one or two at a time, the client became annoyed at the inconvenience and uncertainty of when the next one was going to stop working.

Lutron did the right (and amazing) thing.

They sent brand new replacement drives for all 63 shades, and paid my company to remove all the original ones and install the new ones.

Result: one very pleased client, and one very impressed shade dealer, me.

Here are some other (less exciting) reasons why I love Lutron:

  • First of all, Lutron does a great job of visually depicting their motorized window treatment products. They make it easy for motorized window treatment specialists like me to present their solutions to clients. Their high resolution images give the products great appeal. Not only does this make life easier for me, it also allows my partners (architects, interior designers, construction professionals, engineers, etc.) to really grasp how the window treatment will impact the rest of the room. Seeing is believing, as they say!
  • The second great thing about Lutron is its compatibility. Their motorized window treatments work with solutions like Amazon Echo, Google Home, Sonos, and Nest. This makes it a lot easier to integrate into our projects and my partners love that. That matters to me. I think a big part of being someone that people like to work with is serving their own. Ultimately my goal is to serve the end client, but to achieve that I have to make things as easy as possible for the team that I work with.
  • Lastly, not only are Lutron products of the highest quality, but they also have great sounding names. Take the “Lutron Caseta”, for example, their smart lighting product. How cool is that name? If I can sound hip when I talk, it really helps my appeal with designers and architects.
